Artist Talita Zaragoza

Talita Zaragoza

Brooklyn, NY, USA

Brazilian,   —   Talita Zaragoza was born in 1985 in São Paulo, Brazil. The artist works mainly with painting, drawings and photography. Her inspiration derives mostly from nature, from the relationships between the concepts of micro and macro, action and reaction, transience and permutable interrelationships. Her work dialogues with natural landscapes and their rhythms, creating metaphorical connections and an aesthetics of reverberation. Since 2012, Zaragoza has lived in New York, where she studied at the International Center for Photography (ICP), focusing on Fine Arts photography. Prior to that, she received her B.A. in Fine Arts and a Master’s degree in Art History, both from the Fundação Alvares Penteado (FAAP), in São Paulo, Brazil. Zaragoza has shown her work internationally, particularly in São Paulo and New York, including at the Emma Thomas Gallery, The International Center for Photography, MAB FAAP, The Hollows and Interventions 3, curated by Isidro Blasco. She has attended a few artist’s residencies in the United States, one in New York – The Hollows, and one in Dorset, Vermont – The Marble House, and more recently one in Iceland, at the Eastern Fjords. Zaragoza lives in New York since 2012, working on her projects between Brazil and the US.
