American, b. 1981 — Sarah E. Brook is a Brooklyn-based sculptor and installation artist, born and raised in Reno, NV. Brook explores the relationship between expansive external and internal (psychic) space through works that are both object and perceptual experimentation. She has exhibited with BRIC, Lesley Heller, Field Projects, Re:Art, the (un)Scene, Carrie Able Gallery, NARS, Ground Floor Gallery, the Newhouse Center for Contemporary Art and others. She has been awarded residencies from SPACE on Ryder Farm, Jentel Foundation, Playa and Kimmel Harding Nelson Center for the Arts. Brook's public art sculptures include “Open Shelter” in Prospect Park, "Align," a permanent installation in Crystal Park, NY, and "Viewfinding," a one-year installation in Riverside Park, Manhattan which incorporates queer poetry and community programming.
