Brazilian, b. 1980 — Lives and works in Rio de Janeiro. Working on the idea of “path,” colorful plastic doors appear to bring different perspectives, recoding of signs used in emergency exits and crossroads created with embroidery. In her most recent works, images of embroidered QR Codes direct the viewer to other places through the cell phone camera. The works pervade affective issues of the artist, who experienced an itinerant childhood—an eternal coming and going, looking for a place that soon became the past. The concepts of guide and direction and the haptic character that appears in the final result of the works are crucial points of her search. There are two main questions for the spectator: Where to go next? What is the escape route? Urgent questions in the dystopian scenario we are dealing with today. Her recent collectives includes Do write (right) to me, ChaShaMa, New York - USA - 2021; A melancolia da paisagem, Fortaleza, CE - 2019; Abre Alas 14, A Gentil Carioca, RJ - 2018 and International Biennial of Cerveira, Portugal, 2018. She made an individual exhibition in 2019, Route of Escape at Galeria Aymoré, RJ.
