Description
"The Canned Goods" series draws inspiration from online images of men comparing their genitals to a variety of beverage cans. The pieces deal with common themes from my work: sexuality, the blurring of lines and context, and hiding/revealing. Going further, the work delves into notions of objectification and commodification and speaks to the obfuscation of both the inert object and the human form. In a culture that fetishizes and commodifies so indiscriminately, the subject and object are often times indistinguishable from one another. Acrylic on MDF tondo.
