This work started as a series of early morning exercises and a simple idea, how to reconcile grief and joy, what does that look like? How can that be represented? I circle around these thoughts as I make this work. Spending hours filling gradients with pencil, sanding down, applying paint, calculating angles, diameters, and circumferences, cutting into panel or polishing layers of hardened urethane. The work follows the idea which follow the work like some sort of Ouroboros, the snake eating its own tail.
