Description
Unnatural Systems is an ongoing series of landscape drawings. Natural processes including: erosion, hot springs, volcanic venting, or the spread of weeds, appear normal but on closer inspection reveal patterns and systems that suggest nature behaving unnaturally. The sculptures, installations, and prints I make are technically complex and require significant planning. These drawings are created intuitively. The images that well up tend to be connected to a life-long love of sci-fi/fantasy, echoes of esoteric Mormon scriptures that were packed into my mind when I was a kid, and years climbing, hiking and exploring in nature. This work comes in a white frame, floated on a white acid-free board.
