China, 2019

This photograph is part of Smoke Screen, a recent solo exhibition in Richmond, home of Altria parent company of Phillip Morris USA. The show explores the story of tobacco from seed to cigarette as an allegory for our addiction to fossil fuels, and the political and marketing tactics employed by multinationals who keep us hooked on their suicidal products. This photograph is one of 5 that depict the countries who grow the most tobacco in the world. The continents are mapped out using tiny tobacco seeds and smoke for cloud-cover. -- Archival Inkjet print. Edition of 10 +2APs -- Unframed print: $600 Edition #1 is mounted on acid-free foam-board and framed with non-glare Artglass: $900 (excluding additional shipping)
