Small Sucker, 2019

This photograph is part of Smoke Screen, a recent solo exhibition in Richmond, home of Altria parent company of Phillip Morris USA. The show explores the story of tobacco from seed to cigarette as an allegory for our addiction to fossil fuels, and the political and marketing tactics employed by multinationals who keep us hooked on their suicidal products. The tiny size of this print matches the size of a pack of cigarettes. The removal of the sucker is an important part of the growing of good quality bright leaf tobacco. -- Archival Inkjet print. Edition of 10 +2APs -- Unframed print: $100 -- A larger version of this print is also available (lightly different ratio): 20 x 16.5 inches, titled "Big Sucker".
