Some utility worker or whatever left a traffic cone in front of my studio one day. It did not seem to be referring to any particular emergency or warning of any danger in the landscape. The mirror depicted in this work was left in a room that I moved into in Harlem not long after I arrived in New York. I am comforted and awed by paying special attention to the microscopic distances in time and space that light travels in a room.
