Mayflower, 2012

A central piece to the puzzle of the 2012 solo show at Zieher Smith entitled More Broken Glass Than There Was Window. A meditation on the banking crisis of 2008 and the Great Depression, this project took the form of an abandoned bank with deep anachronisms. Springing forth from a 1936 Dust Bowl-era photograph from Arthur Rothstein (titled "A Bank That Failed",) this installation aimed to illuminate failures and possibilities for redemption in the wake of enormous mistakes and reckless decisions by men entrusted with the welfare of a nation.
