untitled (New Orleans), 2010

Screen prints of topographic maps of New Orleans, Louisiana, with hand-painted forms in gesso and flashe. Unframed. This series dates back to 2010, while the artist was an artist in residence at Cal State. This series was the inaugural use of these plume-like forms in his work. The idea for the plumes originated with the images of the Deepwater Horizon oil spill off the coast of New Orleans.
