During a Walk in Treptower Park, 2018

Much like "Man Sitting in a Chair with Hands Bound," this photograph employs symbolism, which is typically something I avoid. At this point in contemporary culture, the rainbow is a synonymous symbol for LGBTQ+ Pride. Yet, a rainbow is merely a natural phenomenon of light reacting to water. In an archaic sense, rainbows are a statement of forgiveness between god and human. This scene conveys a type of serene beauty, devoid of a clear subject or body; I enjoy the occasional silence of human forms within the series of Variable Embrace. I find that this series could easily be perceived as overtly sexual, and I consider an image such as this to gently refute that idea. Technical: Edition 1 of 3. Frameless archival print on 100% cotton paper. Sans-frame is an aesthetic choice, and I will not provide a frame unless we make other arrangements. Two weeks are needed to facilitate orders. Shipped flat.
