Edition of 6. I immerse the viewer in a fantasy or feeling, creating narratives across media, from videos to sculpture. My characters range from objects with human qualities to unseen, unknown narrators. In the absence of characters, I pair symbols and text with images to create comical and unexpected combinations. Recently, I have integrated actual game concepts into my work, with the series “Flower Trading Cards.” In these photographs, I created a set of twelve floral arrangements, then applied titles and point values to each image. I also assigned corresponding months for all twelve arrangements, thus sorting them into seasons of the year. These numbers and categories are arbitrary, created from my own internal logic, but by applying quantitative values to subjective images, they transcend pure aesthetic and become useful components of a game.
