Loose Squares, 2017

This one is a very intimate piece and close to my heart, especially as a display of Chicago Street culture. I took this on the Red Line, maybe at around 1AM - coming home from an internship I was holding at the time. Cigarettes (commonly known as squares), are a big economic presence on the streets and unfortunately - a lot of Black residents who have a hard time with employment, depend on this market. The photo represents the business and practicality of the exchange of goods. A late night train for some, is a store front from others.
