Also available unframed: $550 ​In his series ​Entire​, Zimmer photographs encounters between matter of opposing origin and function, the staging a negotiation of space where incongruous elements—organic matter and manufactured materials–touch one another. A colored light often bleeds through their surfaces, blending them together with an ephemeral bond that creates an illusion of naturalness. In creating these images the artist acts as a bridge, a connector between two ends of a spectrum, a plank in the middle reaching for place and purpose. Each image stems from a dialogue involving artist, materials, place and purpose; each is also a proposal for exchange, an attempt at articulation through the circumvention of language.
