Into Focus, Then Out, Then Back in Again 03, 2020

Using two images from a 1970’s Ebony magazine, I blur, layer, obscure, and create limited color pallets from the selected images. Endless reproduction, hacking, crashing, and bootleging of the digital arises as a new way of exposure and concealment. This brings their ability to tell the truth about black life into question as they dissolve into a series of colors. (~20 x ~16 inches)
