Alice's Tea Cup, 2020

Alice's Tea Cup is a precious item that has been "invaded" by ivy. The work explores objects of value that dissipate both aesthetically and worth through defacement and time. I embrace man-made objects of antiquity that are recognized today and are an abiding substitute for human presence. The chosen material relates back to the fragility of humanity and the natural world. These works are hand built without utilizing a potters wheel to allow the process be relatable to ancestry and the history of ceramic building.* *The potters wheel was invented 6,000-4,000 years ago. The practice of ceramics has been dated back to 29,000 BC)
