Description
Markings Series - The mark making is the primary focus. Playful and layered, the graphite marks dance across the surface – fluid energetic responses to the moment. The transient and illusory is metaphorically suggested by the use of archival drafting film as the drawing surface. The horizontal linear repetition is grounding to the bursts of movement. The 'horizons' suggest a continued process leading us to another level of perception while reminding us of the persistence of time. Selected color partners with the graphite repeating and emphasizing the gestures and choreography. The drawing measures 18 x 18 in. mounted on archival conservation board and framed in a custom whitewashed maple frame.
