Description
'Party no.3' is part of 'Bonfire', a multilayered blanket installation. Now, customers can purchase these blankets individually. At the center of this piece, a diptych of carpets (60 x 80 inches) portrays a large group of people gathered in a circle - much as we would gather around a bonfire. Filling out the mandala-like shape, the surrounding carpets (50 x 60 inches) portray people from varied backgrounds, most of them expressing happiness. Collaged into each of the surrounding carpets is an image of a bonfire. Whereas the bonfire is usually the center of a gathering, where the fire burns all around us. At this time, vast fires were devastating parts of the Amazon Rainforest, California, and Australia.
