Description
Ink and powder pigment on canvas I’ve always appreciated and been drawn to subtlety: Subtle feelings, subtle tones, subtle lights and subtle colors. We often acknowledge and highlight things that are bold and clear but we also live with so many powerful “in-between” factors that are difficult or impossible to be described with words. I tend to work with simple materials in a monochromatic palette. I prefer to extract and find beauty within less: to exploring many shades of tones. To me blue has been one of the most beautiful yet toughest colors to work with and I decided to explore shades of blue. It’s an ongoing project and the process is very intriguing to find tones that I feel comfortable with and that excites me at the same time.
