Artist Anna Heywood-Jones

Anna Heywood-Jones

Vancouver, Canada

b. 1985   —   Anna Heywood-Jones is a visual artist and educator based in Vancouver (Canada) on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. Her artistic practice is focused on exploring the complex relationship between the human and more-than-human spheres, seen through textile processes and forms. Through her work, Heywood-Jones strives to convey notions of slow loss and transformation, examining the metamorphic nature of human and vegetal expressions of existence. She holds a Master of Fine Arts degree from NSCAD University, a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Emily Carr University, and a diploma in Fibre Arts from Kootenay School of the Arts.
