Alison Owen



Alison Owen received her MFA from Claremont Graduate University. She has participated in numerous residencies, including Artists Alliance in the Lower East Side, Wave Hill in the Bronx, LMCC Process Space on Governors Island, The Joan Mitchell Center in New Orleans, the Bronx Museum of Art, foundation id11 in Delft, the Netherlands, The Women’s Studio Workshop in Rosendale, and The Hambidge Center for Art and Science in Georgia. She was a fellow in the A.I.R. Gallery Fellowship Program in 2017. The Rhode Island State Council for the Arts awarded Owen the New Genres fellowship in 2010. Owen has exhibited her artwork in galleries and museums across the United States, including Smack Mellon and AIR gallery in Brooklyn, the DeCordova Museum in Massachusetts, the Providence Natural History Museum, and Staple Goods in New Orleans. She also creates site-specific installations in domestic environments, under the title House Work, and collaborates with Mia Rovegno on community-based projects as part of The Center for Morale, Welfare, and Recreation.
